Classification Salary Range: $103,750 to $155,625. Hiring Salary Range: $103,750 to $129,687. An offer above the hiring range may be considered based on qualifications. The Assistant County Attorney performs a wide variety of professional duties under the direction of supervising attorneys, including providing legal advice and services that may be provided to the Board of County Commissioners, County departments, and/or boards, authorities, and commissions of the County; conducting legal research; preparing memoranda, contracts, briefs and other legal documents; rendering legal opinions; responding to requests for public records, and representing the County in litigation Applicants are encouraged to apply by Tuesday, July 10th, however, the job will be posted until filled. Hours and Location: This is a full-time position. The work schedule is Monday – Friday and work hours are determined by need but generally fall between 8:00am – 5:00 pm. Represents the Board of Equalization in tax appeals. Drafts and reviews contracts, resolutions, and other legal documents. Provides legal guidance on development, real estate, land use, and planning matters. Investigate claims and lawsuits involving the county. Represents the county in court and administrative proceedings. Responds to requests for public records. Maintains legal knowledge through training and professional development. Qualifications: JD from an ABA-accredited law school Must be licensed to practice law by the State of Colorado and in good standing. Minimum of three (3) years in the practice of law, with general land use and real estate experience or, if less than three (3) years, a demonstrated ability to perform the tasks based on education and experience.
