FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

A rare opportunity to work in the number one market, providing content for our marquee morning news and variety show "Good Day New York", "The Noon", 5 & 6 PM newscasts, "The 10 O'clock News" and a host of special programming, plus our various digital streaming platforms. We are committed to delivering compelling, high-quality news content that informs, inspires, and engages our audience. We are in search of a talented Video News Photojournalist and Editor to join our team and as we strive to deliver the highest standards in news production.

Job Description: As a Video News Photojournalist and Editor, you will play a key role in capturing and producing visually compelling news stories that resonate with our audience. You will work closely with reporters, producers, and other team members to ensure that our content is both informative and visually engaging. This position requires a creative eye, technical expertise, and a passion for storytelling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capture high-quality video footage for breaking news stories, live events, and special features.
  • Edit video content under tight deadlines to create accurate, engaging news segments that meet our editorial standards.
  • Work side-by-side with reporters and producers to develop visual storytelling strategies.
  • Operate and maintain video equipment, ensuring all gear is in excellent working condition.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continually enhance our content.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, meeting tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ensure all video content adheres to legal and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

  • Expertise operating ENG cameras (we shoot w Sony PXW-X400), DJI Osmos, GoPros, and other portable "action cameras".
  • 5+ years as a videographer and editor, preferably in a top 10 market.
  • Familiarity with the Tri-State area, as you will be operating station owned vehicles in NY, NJ, CT and beyond.
  • Experience with cellular bonding transmitters (LiveU/Dejero) and Starlink.
  • Strong understanding of video production techniques, including lighting, sound, and composition.
  • Proficiency with Windows OS and Adobe Premiere Pro, FTP applications is a must.
  • Excellent storytelling skills with a keen eye for detail and the moving image.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects all at once.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, overnights and weekends, as news coverage dictates.
  • A degree in journalism, film production, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and climb stairs; driver’s license required.

Flexibility in scheduling evenings, early mornings, weekends as well as work all shifts in a 24/7/365 breaking news environment; must be able to work overtime, holidays and varied hours. Candidate will also be required to join the I.A.T.S.E Local 794 union. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience and in accordance with the applicable union collective bargaining agreement is: $46.12-$47.89 per hour.
