The  IT Systems and Support Technician is responsible to provide assistance to the IT Systems and Support Manager with council network and computer systems, as well as provide excellent customer service and technical support for Council staff and volunteers. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties as assigned.

• Provide first and second level contact and convey resolutions to customer issues.
• Review council performance dashboards
• Manage and/or escalate issues and unresolved requests for assistance
• Assist with employee transitions and deliver network orientation
• Assist with management of administrative rights for the Council staff and volunteers on all technologies.
• Provide basic user training for staff on equipment and software
• Provide support for a wide variety of hardware and software issues
• Manage A/V setup and tear down of equipment for presentations, events and meetings.
• Support computer configuration, testing and deploying.
• Assist with maintaining the technology equipment checkout system.
• Provide support at all council locations remotely or in person.  Some travel required.
• Assist with maintaining adequate system documentation for all council information systems
• Assist with management of email, web, file and imaging servers
• Provide administrative support for the IT Department. This may include preparing mail, maintaining and ordering department supplies, overseeing all meeting preparations (scheduling, follow-up, room setup, catering arrangements, meeting reminders, materials distribution) and recording meeting minutes.
• Assist with managing staff cybersecurity training.
• Assist with compiling and maintaining department records.

Qualifications : 

• Associate’s degree (AA) or related experience preferred; Technology certification or related experience can used as substitution for Associate’s degree.  Requires experience with Microsoft Office software and Operating systems.  Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and be detail oriented.   
• Ability to work from home, as needed, to include high speed home internet access, accessibility to a non-distracting and uninterrupted space with adequate lighting and ergonomically adequate workspace.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Council resources and technologies including Microsoft Office software (i.e., Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) and Operating system, as well as typing.  
• Valid Texas driver’s license and proof of insurance preferred.
