Summary:

This position serves as the Health Plan Communications Coordinator to the Health Plan Contracting team. Primary responsibility will be to ensure our MedPOINT teams are knowledgeable and informed on Health Plan policy changes by assisting department leadership in obtaining, filing, summarizing, and distributing Health Plan communications according to established policies and SOPs. Communications to be processed under this position include monthly Health Plan communications to IPAs from all Health Plans for all Lines of Business, Health Plan Provider Manual Updates and changes, website updates, as well as Joint Operating Meeting materials. This Coordinator will not process Contract agreements or amendments but will serve as a resource to the Health Plan Contracting Negotiation and Onboarding Team to improve negotiations and onboarding summaries and will help ensure questions from all MedPOINT Departments arising from the Health Plan Communications are responded to timely by Health Plan or MedPOINT leadership.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Locate and Monitor Health Plan websites and publications for pertinent updates for internal distribution.
  • Receiving and filing Health Plan paper and electronic communications.
  • Streamline Health Plan Communication distributions within MedPOINT Management.
  • Follow established Health Plan policies and SOPs to name and file Health Plan Communications.
  • Assist internal MedPOINT teams to locate pertinent communications and to help resolve questions from internal teams related to Health Plan communications.  

 

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years’ work experience as a health plan contracts coordinator or familiarity with contracts and health care.
  • Detail-oriented, organization, planning, and coordination skills required.
  • Legal background highly preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Must be an organized self-starter and able to work from home to some extent.
  • Must be willing to work from the office at least one day per week and for occasional meetings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Team-oriented and positive attitude!
