Summary Description Under the direction of the school principal and the director of the Division of Early Childhood, Title I, and Recovery Funds, this role involves planning and providing support to strengthen and extend the school's focus on supporting students' social and emotional needs as a key to their academic development. The SEL implementation coach will focus on training and developing school staff, supporting the development of students' social and emotional skills, conducting professional learning sessions, and monitoring student progress in social emotional wellness, academic achievement, and health. The position involves collaboration with staff and community partners to address cultural, social justice, and health issues affecting children. The coach will communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and community members to ensure proper supports are in place for student well-being and successful SEL curriculum implementation. This is a grant-funded position. Physical demands are as per job responsibilities, and attendance at meetings and events outside instructional hours is required. Experience as a teacher or counselor, and supporting SEL curriculum implementation, is preferred. Must meet Maryland certification requirements in an appropriate field.
