Must-haves
1-2+ years in an IT support role
Experience troubleshooting hardware and software incidents
Basic network understanding, troubleshooting wifi connectivity, understanding of fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, LAN/WAN, etc.
Strong recent experience with que management, working with a ticketing system
Strong communication, eagerness to learn, and customer service skills
Plusses
Experience working in a genius bar, geek squad, etc. (customer service, client facing role)
Experience working in the educational/instructional field, or working in IT at their college
Strong recent experience using ServiceNow as a ticketing system
Day-to-Day
A client is looking for a Jr. Network Specialist to support a school district within Westchester County, NY. This person will be spending 100% of their day doing deskside support. They will be supporting about 300-500 staff members, working directly with executives, teachers, and students to resolve tickets and incidents. These tickets will include a large variety of things, including Active Directory support and password resets, network connectivity issues, smartboard support, hardware troubleshooting, imaging labs, deploying Chromebook, completing migrations, projector & printer break fixes, email support, etc. This individual needs to have strong customer service skills and fundamental network experience to communicate issues and solutions with the staff they are supporting.
$23-25/hr based off experience
