Position Purpose


Support the Veolia Capital Program Management Team in New Orleans, LA by developing, implementing, and managing plant upgrade projects and collection system projects, including phased plant upgrades, collection system upgrades, and other fast-paced projects. Projects may involve design/build or alternative delivery methods.

The CPM Project Manager will provide administrative and technical direction, enforce policies, serve as main client interface, and ensure projects are constructed per design, budget, and schedule. Responsibilities include independent evaluation, selection, and modification of standard construction techniques.

The role involves overseeing development, implementation, and management of water and wastewater capital projects, managing stakeholders, conducting preliminary engineering, cost estimating, procurement, construction management, safety oversight, contract negotiations, and client interactions. It also includes field oversight, project administration, and coordination with plant operations and city officials.

Primary Duties / Responsibilities



  • Organize and direct all construction activities to meet design, budget, schedule, and quality standards.

  • Coordinate and supervise personnel and contractors.

  • Authorize hiring, oversee work, and manage procurement and change requests.

  • Monitor budgets, schedules, and progress, reviewing weekly with the team.

  • Serve as primary client contact for project activities.

  • Maintain project logs and documentation.

  • Implement safety and environmental compliance programs.

  • Perform additional duties as directed.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment


Work environments vary between office, operational, and construction sites. Travel may be required. A valid drivers license and safe driving record are necessary.

Possible Work Hazards



  • Physical demands include standing, sitting, walking, and occasional stooping or entering confined spaces.

  • Use of ladders or stairs may be required.

  • Exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, machinery, and hazards such as high pressure, temperature extremes, and electrical risks.

Qualifications


Education / Experience / Background



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; PE preferred.

  • 7-10 years in water/wastewater treatment systems, project management, and construction management.

  • Experience in water/wastewater projects is highly desirable.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities



  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Deep knowledge of construction technology, equipment, and standards.

  • Excellent organizational and supervisory skills.

  • Experience with project cost estimation and engineering.

  • Ability to manage subcontractors, safety, costs, and quality.

  • Proficiency in project management and construction management.
