Position: Assistant Financial Manager for NCA clients, including Downtown El Cajon Business Partners (DECBP) & another Downtown San Diego client (To be announced)

Virtual: No, In-Person

Status: Full-Time (40+ hours/week) | Hourly with Potential for Salaried Placement

Location: Corporate Office – Little Italy, San Diego, CA

JOB DESCRIPTION

NCA is seeking a highly organized, analytical, and proactive Assistant Financial Manager to support the Financial Manager in maintaining our clients' fiscal health and ensuring accurate, compliant financial operations.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for a wide range of essential financial functions, including ensuring compliance with City contracts related to financial matters, preparing and submitting payment requests to various City departments, managing payables and receivables with third-party vendors, overseeing daily banking activities, assisting with insurance policy oversight, and providing general administrative support. This role will also assist in preparing for annual financial audits and support our CPA with tax filings.

As a member of the NCA team, the Assistant Financial Manager may also be called upon to assist with a variety of projects, including running errands, supporting special events, participating in group interviews, and other tasks assigned by their direct supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Assist in preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
  • Prepare payables and obtain check signatures
  • Invoice customers
  • Monitor financial performance and provide actionable insights
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies
  • Maintain and organize financial records and documentation
  • Coordinate with other departments to gather and verify financial data
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Help improve financial procedures and support system implementations
  • Manage day-to-day financial tasks including cash flow tracking, reconciliations, and journal entries

SKILLS

  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in financial analysis or accounting
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting standards
  • Proficiency in financial software such as QuickBooks and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Hourly: $28.85–$31.25 | Salary: $60,000–$65,000 annually
  • Overtime Permitted with Prior Authorization
  • Medical (65% covered) and Dental & Vision (100% covered)*

* Eligible after 90 days of employment

SCHEDULE & WORK LOCATION

  • Standard: Monday through Friday
  • On Occasion: Weekends or Before/After Hours Based on Need
  • In-person at Corporate Office in Little Italy, San Diego. Remote work is allowed with prior authorization, but is not a part of the position’s standard schedule.
